Funded by Al-Bannai, Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) began business in Hong Kong on May 24. According to the Chairman of ESL, the company will adopt a long-term development strategy and fully commit to quality service to and from the Middle East, the Indian Continent, China, and across the world. In the initial period, chartered vessels (mostly with 3,000-TEU capacity) under long-term charter agreements will form the bulk of the fleet. By May 23, it had already opened its Indus express service, spanning South Asia, Europe and North America, with two 3,000-TEU ships. ESL¡¯s Hong Kong headquarters now have about 50 employees. |
