Li Shaode Appointed President of China Shipping Group

China Shipping (Group) Co. announced that, with immediate effect, Mr. Li Shaode took over the presidency of China Shipping Group from Li Kelin. Li Kelin, born in September 1942, was retired due to age reasons.

Mr. Li Shaode started his career with Shanghai Marine Transport Bureau under the Chinese Ministry of Communications, which later changed its name to Shanghai Marine Transport (Group) Co., and was promoted to Deputy General Manager and General Manager of Shanghai Marine Transport (Group) Co. In 1997, he was appointed Vice President of China Shipping Group when the new conglomerate was established, with responsibility for shipping operations. In February 2003, he took the position of Secretary of the Leading Team of Chinese Communist Party in China Shipping Group, as well as Vice President.

Mr. Li Shaode said that he wished to see a stable transition of the management of China Shipping Group, and that he would continue to implement the business strategies of the Group.
