¡¡¡¡Shanghai Waigaoqiao Harbour Area recently commenced construction on its biggest berth in plan, the 400-metre multi-purpose terminal in the upper of Phase VI of Waigaoqiao Harbour Area.
¡¡¡¡This Waigaoqiao Phase VI is 1,538 metres in total, with terminal docks being constructed in three stages in the upper, middle and lower reaches respectively. The 400-metre multi-purpose terminal in the upper reach will be able to hold 150,000-ton ships. After completion of the project, there will be a smooth passage through to Phase V allowing for bridge-crane combined processing. Facilitation of 16-metre gauge portal hoists will also be possible.
¡¡¡¡In addition, construction of a 120,000-m2 storage yard is in full swing as Phase I of a 600-metre Ro/Ro Terminal in the lower reaches of Waigaoqiao. |
