Cooperation Approved between DPW and Qingdao Port Group

A joint venture scheme by DPW and Qingdao Port Group has been approved, by which Qingdao Port Group will take up administration along dock coastal lines that used to belong separately to the two parties. Thus Qingdao Port Group will firmly maintain its foothold at the top in front bay ports.

After this joint venture, Qingdao Port will have added 2,640 metres to its previous 3,400-metre northern container terminal, with its total coastal line expanding over 6,000 metres along the Qingdao Port frontage. The finalised terminal will be able to handle an annual throughput of over 13 million TEU.

It is reported that Qingdao Port has planned 8 deep-water container berths along southern front bay ports, with the deepest measuring up to 20 metres below water and allowing for over 6.4 million TEU in throughput. In the north, throughput of the existing 10 deep-water container berths is to break 9 million TEU.
