New CEPA Supplements signed

¡¡¡¡Liao Xiaoqi, Vice Minister of Commerce signed the CEPA Supplement 4 document with Hong Kong and the CEPA Supplement 4 document with Macao on June 29 and July 2 respectively, which will both go into effect from January, 1, 2008.
¡¡¡¡According to the new supplement agreement with Hong Kong, the Mainland will open up eleven new areas of service trade to Hong Kong pushing the total to 38 in number, further lower market entry conditions to Hong Kong¡¯s service providers and allow trans-border delivery of such services as concern management and consulting, conference & exhibition, and entertainment and so on.
¡¡¡¡According to the new supplement agreement with Macao, the Mainland will open up eleven new areas of service trade to Macao, remove the barrier of shareholding limitations, reduce qualification conditions and the amount of capital for business registration, relax control on the range of business scope and the limitation on business place. Moreover articles on increasing financial cooperation and promoting trade and investment facilitation have been added. Up to the present, the Mainland has opened up 38 business areas to Macao under 182 related measures.
