¡¡¡¡Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) has made its gantry cranes driven by diesel engine into by electric power. The RMB200,000 (USD29,240)electrification programme makes YICT on the list of 20 energy-saving enterprises in Shenzhen.
¡¡¡¡After electrification, each gantry crane can reduce 323 tonnes of carbon dioxide exhaust per year as well as a 30% reduction in noise. At present, more that 30 YICT's environmental projects are being carried out or have been operational. It shows that YICT can save five million KWH and three million litres of fuel oil each year.
