¡¡¡¡July 7th, Taiwan CSBC Corporation (CSBC) announced delays to the delivery of 14 container cargo carriers to Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp's (Yang Ming) subsidiary, All Oceans Transportation Inc.
¡¡¡¡According to their bulletins, five 8,240-TEU ships will be delayed by 15 months, four 6,600-TEU ships by six months and five 4,500-TEU ships by 13 months. LI Zhicheng, general manager of CSBC, confirmed that they have in hand orders for 44 container carriers and 28 small ships.
¡¡¡¡Bleak market prospects have forced a choice between cancelling new orders, making discounts or delaying delivery.
