|  | ¡¡¡¡June 29th, the 'New' Qingdao Qianwan Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (QQCTN), a joint venture by Qingdao Qianwan Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (QQCT) and Pan Asia International Shipping Co., Ltd., was officially opened.
¡¡¡¡Following the four-party (from three countries) joint venture of QQCT in 2003, QQCTN is another Sino-foreign joint venture by Qingdao Port Group, Dubai Ports World, COSCO Group, Maersk Group and Pan Asia Group. It is responsible for unified planning, construction, management and external contact of 10 container terminals in the 4th phase of Qianwan project. Total investment injected is USD 1.4 billion. All 10 deepwater container terminals in the 4th phase project have been completed with the shoreline stretching 3,408 metres, and a planned maximum depth of 20 metres. Electric rail yard field bridges and digital control system are also included in the project. It will be the world’s biggest and the most advanced container terminal so far.
